My turn for the morning squee: I've got eight nominations for the LMFAs! Thank you, thank you, thank you guys. I wasn't expecting a nod at all, since I really haven't written new stuff this year (too much going on in RL, but that will be changing by the end of the year, for better or for worse) so I was really surprised and delighted by the nominations.

Two of the stories nominated were Gen, which absolutely shocked me: the Raising Ellison Series (which is making me think I should dust off the WIPs of the later stories and take the series further toward its conclusion) and Happy Birthday, Blair. I never think of myself as a Gen author, despite the fact that I've probably written more Gen than Slash. And the third story nominated was Metamorphosis, which again shocked me; I love that story dearly, but I assumed when I wrote it that it would be wildly unpopular. Which is also what I thought about Problem, Child, so that should teach me to take risks when a story begs to be written.

In other news, I'm working my way through the Moonridge drabble prompts, and I hope to start sending stories out to people soon. Thank you guys so much for your patience, and I really hope you like them!

pornish_pixies decided to celebrate getting back up online by issuing a challenge: "The Internet is for Porn," which they were nice enough to open up to everyone, not just members. I was tempted to draw Hermione choreographing Harry/Ron with a copy of the Kama Sutra, but in the end, I couldn't resist doing Snape/Lupin, my all-time favorite HP pairing.

DevArt has a mature content filter, so if you aren't a member and really don't want to join, tell me and I'll email you the pic.

Because Moonridge is falling in the middle of the hellish time at work (and because I suck and still haven't turned in my story from two years ago:P), I wasn't intending to participate this year. But carodee came up with this great idea, wrangling short, sweet pwps of Sentinel-sized orgasms from people all over fandom, and I couldn't resist. So Caro has my first piece of non-photo-derived art, which I promise to post here when the auction has timed out. But in the mean time, if you want to contribute an orgasm of your own or get an early taste of what the auction will have to offer, run over to Caro's lj! The deadline for contributing is tomorrow; you've still got time!

"Fandom is like the Hotel California" ETA: I've given in to temptation and put up a Moonridge auction of my own -- $5 drabbles, along the lines of my 24-hour drabble a while back. For every $5 you spend, I will write you a 100-500 word drabble for Sentinel, Stargate: SG-1 or Stargate: Atlantis. You pick the character/pairing and one-word prompt, and I'm open to both classic OTPs and highly random pairings or character vignettes, so you can really go to town on this. But I'm putting up a cap of 30 drabbles total, first come, first served, so put your name in the hat before they're all gone!

I realize this is ridiculously oversensitive of me, but I'm having the mother of all bad weeks, so oversensitive is about the only dial setting right now. Can we not use the term "mouthbreather"? Please? The fact that I was born with a nose too small to be of much practical use really has no bearing on my intelligence, and I hate walking around feeling like people see me as a slack-jawed yokel because I part my lips in my quest for oxygen if I'm doing anything more strenuous than sitting.

Bad, bad week. Sorry.
